I'm always trying to challenge  ideas, approaches and traditions that I internalize, but half the time I don't even know what they are until I see something in the work. Is there such a thing as critical feeling? Because I'd use that to describe a big part of my process. Its never clear at the start, and at may points along the way I ask my bird "Steve, what exactly are we doing here?" but he never says anything.
